FITTEAM LEAN: Acai Berry Blast Smoothie Recipe

Acai bowls are popping up in juice bars and healthy cafes all over the country. Not only is the acai berry a sweet little treat that makes your tastebuds rejoice, they’re loaded with antioxidants that neutralize damage caused by free-radicals in the body. The antioxidant content of foods is typically measured by an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) score, and 100g of these little beauties score an ORAC of 15,405, whereas the same amount of blueberries only score 4,669. – Impressive!

Aside from combating toxicity and inflammation in the body, acai has loads of other health benefits that boost overall well-being. They’re high in fiber, lower in sugar (compared to other fruits), and deliver healthy fats. Specifically, the antioxidants in acai aid in the “housekeeping” effect of brain cells, cleaning out the old or damaged cells that can negatively affect memory and learning.

  • 1 packet of FITTEAM LEAN protein
  • 1 (100 gram) packet frozen açaí puree (Organic and Unsweetened – Acai Root works great here because it’s higher in fiber and lower in sugar compared to puree from the Acai berries.)

  • 1/2 cups Organic, frozen blueberries

  • 1/2 peeled, frozen banana (You can omit this to reduce carb/sugar content.)

  • 1 cup Organic, almond milk (or any liquid of your choosing)

  • 3-4 ice cubes (adjust based on desired consistency)


  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
